KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 — A total of 14 areas recorded moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at 9am today compared to 18 areas last night, said the Department of Environment (DOE).
Four areas with moderate API that have improved to good are Tanjung Malim (from 53 to 45) Sri Aman (from 58 to 45), Shah Alam (from 53 to 46) and Kuala Selangor (from 56 to 45).
The 14 areas with moderate API include Port Klang (63), Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (61), Alor Setar (58), Kuching (56) and Seri Manjung (51).
An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; between 51 and 100, moderate; between 101 and 200, unhealthy; between 201 and 300, very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.
