KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 — A Filipino maid was found dead, believed to have been murdered during a robbery, in the storeroom of a condominium in Jalan Choo Cheng Khay, Kampung Attap, here last night.
The victim, known only as Rany, 35, was found by her employer who returned home after leaving the house for dinner at about 9pm.
Dang Wangi police chief ACP Zainuddin Ahmad said the victim who was fully dressed had two injury marks on her head, believed to have been caused by a hard and blunt object.
However, the mother of the employer, aged 75 and paralysed due to stroke, was not injured in the incident, Zainuddin told reporters, here this morning.
“The mother of the employer can hear but cannot speak. She was not harmed by the suspects. The maid had been working with her employer for a year and 10 months now. She was basically looking after the stroke patient,” he said.
He said during the 10.30pm incident, the front grill of the house was not locked but only one Nokia handphone was reported missing.
“Police did not find any weapons used by the suspects in the incident. We are investigating the motive for the murder,” he said adding that the body of the victim had been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem. — Bernama
