IPOH, July 13 — A suspect kicked a policeman’s motorcycle into the river before escaping into the darkness near Mambang Diawan, near Kampar, last night.
Kampar district police chief Supt Ng Kong Soon said the incident happened during Ops Cantas at about 11pm last night.
“The policeman escaped from any injuries but the suspect is still at large,” he said in a statement today.
Ng said since the Ops Cantas started on Monday, 29 illegal immigrants, comprising 20 Indonesians, Nepal (5), Bangladesh (1) and three Vietnamese, were detained.
He said six criminals were also arrested for various offences, including motorcycle theft, burglary and drugs.
