There were no passengers in the bus in the 7.40am incident which left the eight vehicles badly wrecked.
South Seberang Perai police chief Supt Shafien Mamat attributed the crash to the bus’ faulty brake system.

“There were no passengers on board the bus and the drivers of the vehicles escaped injury,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shafien said no report had been lodged over a reported attempt to kidnap a boy during the tarawih prayer on July 8, as stated in a letter using the letterhead of the Organisation for Voluntary Secretary and Islam Welfare Kerian, Perak which appeared in social networking sites. — Bernama
