KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 ― MCA's re-entry into the Cabinet will not stop it from being critical of the government, party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said today.
He said the Barisan Nasional (BN) party will continue to act as a watchdog to Putrajaya to ensure the administration remains effective and in tune with voters' needs.
“MCA will continue to very critical about the government, policies as well as administrative matters because we want the government to perform better.
“Because we want the government to continue to enjoy the support of the people,” he told reporters after thanking Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak for appointing two MCA leaders into the Cabinet and three deputy ministers, at the party's headquarters here.
MCA has been outspoken in recent months over the government’s overtures to opposition party PAS over hudud, the Islamic penal code.
