KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 — Twelve revellers who were warded after allegedly taking drugs while attending a concert at the Bukit Jalil Stadium here early Saturday were reported to be in stable condition.
Nine of them are being treated at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), two (Universiti Kebangsaan Medical Centre — UKMC) and another (Kuala Lumpur Hospital — HKL), said Cheras police chief Mohan Singh Tara Singh.
He said three others had been discharged — two Singaporeans from HKL and a Taiwanese from UMMC.
Eight of the 12 revellers still warded are Singaporeans and one each from Myanmar, Iran, the Philippines and Malaysia, he said in a statement today.
Early Saturday, six revellers, including three women, aged between 19 and 28 died after allegedly taking the drug methamphetamine before going to the Future Music Festival Asia concert at the Bukit Jalil Stadium while 14 others were hospitalised.
Mohan Singh said so far 29 people, 15 of them foreigners and 14 locals, were arrested for drug abuse during the concert.
“After investigations, an individual was charged, another released and 10 released on police bail,” he said, adding that 17 were remanded, three of them from last Friday until March 27, three (from Saturday until today) and 11 (from Saturday until March 28). — Bernama
