SHAH ALAM, March 14 — The management of Concorde Hotel in Section 9 here is investigating the collapse of a section of its lobby ceiling yesterday evening.

Its general manager, Karl Muirm in a statement here today said the hotel was being refurbished when the incident occurred at 5.30pm.

“The hotel crisis management team was quick to control the situation and reported no hotel guests or employees were hurt in the incident. The affected area has been closed for repair works.

“All guests were informed personally by the hotel management on the incident. The cause is still being investigated,” he said.

Muir said the hotel management viewed seriously the incident and would not issue any comments until its engineer completed his report. 

Several dailies today reported the incident at the hotel which was undergoing renovation. — Bernama
