KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 — Police detained two “Geng Shan” members, believed to be responsible for car hijacking cases reported in the Klang Valley since the past two years, and seized several items, including four cars, worth RM400,000.
Brickfields district police chief ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said the suspects, aged 21 and 23, were detained at Jalan Tun Sambanthan and in Brickfields, respectively, last Tuesday.
He said the first suspect, who was driving a Honda Civic car, was detained at 7.45pm, and the second suspect, also driving a Honda Civic car, a few hours later.
Their modus operandi was to crash their car into the rear of unsuspecting motorists and then robbed the victims when they stopped to check the damage, he added.
Following the arrest of the suspects, police were led to a car park in the area where they found the other two cars.
Muhammad Azlee said police were looking for another suspect, believed to be the gang leader, identified as Vijanthiran Chandra Sekaran, 32, also known as Shan. — Bernama
