SINGAPORE, Oct 21 — At least eight flights from Singapore to Hong Kong have been cancelled today as at 9am, with another nine re-timed for later departure due to Typhoon Haima.

The affected airlines are Singapore Airlines, Tigerair, United Airlines, Jetstar Asia, and Cathay Pacific.

Two Singapore Airlines flights to Hong Kong — SQ890 and SQ856 — have been cancelled, with another two, SQ860 and SQ866, delayed.

Meanwhile, at least eight flights from Hong Kong to Singapore have been cancelled, including Singapore Airlines flights SQ891 and SQ861.

Cathay Pacific flights CX735, CX635, CX711, and CX715 from Hong Kong to Singapore have also been cancelled.

Another six flights between Hong Kong and Singapore have been delayed till Saturday, including Singapore Airlines flights SQ863, and SQ865.

Local media reported that more than 200 flights in and out of Hong Kong have been axed due to the typhoon approaching the city.

Hong Kong’s flagship carrier Cathay Pacific said it expected “significant disruptions” to its flights between 11am and 10pm today. — TODAY
