KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 — How would you react if you are sitting in a train minding your own business when a stranger suddenly falls asleep on your shoulder?

This video, named “Heartless Malaysians?” by Jason Lim Productions featured two actors, one male and one female, who pretended to doze off on strangers’ shoulders on a train while a cameraman secretly filmed their reaction.

A short message at the beginning of the video stated that the social experiment is to see if Malaysians “can unite as an individual”. The clip also stated midway that “it takes guts to be kind and gentle”.

The male actor got short shrift for most part, with passengers shoving him off their shoulders or leaving their seat when it happened.

The actress, however, generally got better treatment when catching a snooze on the train, with one elderly lady gently brushing hair from her forehead to check on her.

At the end of the video, the creators imparted a message, “The world is full of nice people, if you can’t find one, be one.”
