LOS ANGELES, Aug 13 — Oprah Winfrey knows the key to good hair management, and now the rest of us can get in on the act.

The superstar’s personal hair stylist, Andre Walker, is making his “Gold System” product line available at Target and online this fall, reports Women’s Wear Daily (WWD).

The three-step haircare system is designed for kinky, curly and textured or relaxed hair and comprises cleansing, conditioning and styling products. Infused with African Mongongo oil, the range comprises a sulfate-free shampoo, a keratin conditioner and various styling creams and heat protection products and aims to make hair more manageable over time and with consistent use. Mongongo oil, which comes from the African Mongongo nut, is known for its moisturising properties.

“I created the Gold System with a formulation designed to simplify the hair-care process of coarse, kinky, curly and dry hair,” Walker told WWD. “All of the products in the Gold System contain the moisture-enhancing Mongongo oil. It is our star ingredient and an oil that has been used in Africa for many years on both hair and skin.”

With prices ranging from US$18 to US$35 (RM72 to RM141), the launch is good news for beauty lovers willing to get their celebrity hair fix on a daily basis.

Walker has been working with Oprah since 1986, when he sent the TV host a note offering his services, and is now her only stylist. He has also worked with other stars, including Halle Berry, whose signature pixie cut was his doing, and has won seven Daytime Emmy Awards for his work.
