KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 — Attempts by fans of American rapper Kanye West to return their idol to his billionaire status failed after the GoFundMe page set up for the purpose was removed.

Fans have registered several links for the attempt but at the time of writing, at least one link had been removed after it collected US$5 (RM23.70), AllHipHop reported.

New York Post reported that the 45-year-old's net worth took a plunge after his deal with Adidas fell apart over his series of anti-Semitic outbursts

West, who claimed that he lost nearly US$2 billion (RM9.5 billion) in one day, was also dropped by talent agency CAA while his documentary had been shelved indefinitely.

His inner circles had previously claimed that the celebrity is fascinated with Adolf Hitler.

Apparently, this was not the first time fans have sprung to West’s aid.

In 2016, the public raised nearly US$50,000 (RM237,050) when the singer announced that he was facing bankruptcy.
