SINGAPORE, April 8 — This year’s National Day Parade (NDP) will feature a tribute segment dedicated to the life and accomplishments of the late Lee Kuan Yew, said Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen in a Facebook post yesterday.
Lee’s seat will also be left empty as a mark of remembrance, said Dr Ng.
“All of us wished that Mr Lee Kuan Yew could be here to celebrate NDP 2015 with all Singaporeans. It would have made it so special, the culmination of his life’s work.
“But it was not to be. We have to move on, as Mr Lee would want us to. Therefore, NDP 2015 will still adopt a celebratory tone over Singapore’s progress and achievements,” he wrote. — TODAY
