OCTOBER 6 — In regards to your article published on October 3 titled “What students want in Budget 2016: Flat transport rate”, by Lavinia Louis, we would like to clarify that we do cater several ticket products to the public in order for them to experience hassle-free journey. Below are the ticket products:
1. Touch ’N’ Go Rapid Pass Pelajar — monthly travel pass for local and foreign college/university students where we offer 50 per cent discounts. They have two travel pass options:
a. Rapidpass Bus (for bus rides only) RM50 for local students and RM75 for foreign students.
b. Rapidpass Integrated (for LRT, Monorail, Bus and BRT) RM100 for local students and RM125 for foreign students. Card may be used for unlimited rides for 30 days.
2. Touch ’N’ Go Concession Card (Rabbit Card) — Fare discount of 50 per cent per cent for every journey on Rapid KL LRT, Monorail, BRT and Bus services for:
a. Malaysian Senior Citizens aged 60 years old and above.
b. Malaysian with disability registered with Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat under the following categories: Sight, Hearing, Psychiatric, Speech, Learning Disability and Other Physical Disabilities.
c. Malaysian Primary & Secondary students aged between 7 and 17 years old (fare discount of 50 per cent for every journey on RapidKL Bus and BRT services ONLY.)
For the above, applicants are required to bring the original and a duplicate copy of the MyKad and JKM (OKU) card (for disabled passengers only) for verification purposes. Application must be made at our Concession Registration Counter located at Pasar Seni Bus Hub (Monday to Saturday: 9am to 5pm).
This card is issued free of charge. An initial purse value of RM5 is required, which is to be borne by the customer. For subsequent reloads, passengers may do so at all RapidKL LRT and Monorail and BRT stations (minimum RM10) or any other TnG reload counters.
3. MyRapid Card — is a Stored Value Card (loaded with purse value) that is used to pay for the journeys made on the RapidKL LRT, Monorail and BRT. The fare is deducted from card’s purse value by the exit gate at the end of your journey.
MyRapid Card can be purchased at all RapidKL LRT, Monorail and BRT station counters. Subsequent purse value reloads can be performed at all Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) at RapidKL LRT, Monorail and BRT stations.
The normal card price is RM10 with a purse value of RM5. See below for pricing:-
a. MyRapid Bus — RM100 for 30 days
b. MyRapid Rail — RM100 for 30 days
c. MyRapid Integrated — RM150 for 30 days
4. Single-Journey Concession Token — Concession Tokens provide 50 per cent discounted LRT, Monorail and BRT fares to disabled passengers registered with Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM), and Senior Citizens.
5. Single Journey Token — Used for travel on Rapid KL LRT, Monorail and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system and is valid for one defined journey on the day of the issues.
As Lavinia explained that the article was a survey on getting the reactions from the public in the run-up to Budget 2016, in future it is best if you could fact-check the article that concerns us before dissemination to avoid confusion.
