KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — Increased passenger numbers caused congestion at the Kelana Jaya Line interchange at Pasar Seni and the Kajang Line this morning, Rapid KL said.

Rapid KL said no schedule delays were reported, while passenger flow and entry controls were being implemented at the affected stations to ensure safety and smooth movement.

“Please be informed that these interchange stations are experiencing an increase in passenger numbers, resulting in congestion.

“As such, to ensure passenger safety and the smooth movement of passengers, entry and passenger flow controls are being implemented at the affected stations,” Rapid KL said in a post on its social media accounts today.

Earlier, a video shared on social media by a Threads user known as nibukanyon showed crowded conditions at the stations.

The user also urged members of the public to postpone their journeys due to the congestion.

The video also claimed that LRT services had been experiencing a breakdown since yesterday and that the issue had yet to be repaired, while alleging that the stations were packed with passengers.
