ORLANDO, June 18 — Disneyland is planning to discontinue its ‘Forever Fireworks’ show that was introduced as part of its Diamond Jubilee celebration in May 2015, according to a report by WDW News Today.
The fireworks event, dubbed the theme park’s biggest fireworks show ever, has been drawing record crowds, but WDW wrote that Disney plans to end the show at the conclusion of its Diamond Celebration on September 5, 2016.
Following the departure of the show, Disney can fill in the slots with two seasonal, pre-existing Halloween and Christmas fireworks shows on selected nights until the beginning of 2017, where the management may opt to reinstate the Magical fireworks show or introduce a new, smaller scale version compared to the big and expensive current offering.
Disneyland fans will have several months left to catch the ‘Forever Fireworks’ show before it ends, and can look forward to the completion of the Shanghai Disney Resort in China.
