BANGKOK, Aug 18 — Following the bomb blast at Erawan Shrine in central Bangkok on Monday, local Thai news have listed 10 high-risk areas to be avoided in the city.

They are:

1. Ratchaprasong junction (area of blast, Centralworld, Siam)

2. Pathumwan junction (MBK)

3. Silom road (Sala Daeng)

4. Khao San

5. Narathiwat junction (Sathorn, CBD)

6. Victory Monument

7. Chai Building

8. Benjasiri park

9. Thonglor (Funky Villa, DEMO, Sukhumvit soi 55)

10. Tourist sections of Sukhumvit Road (Main areas of Asok, Nana, Phrom Pong, Thonglor)

The list was compiled and posted on Facebook by former Singapore politician Nicole Seah, who is currently based in Bangkok on Tuesday.

The massive explosion at the popular Hindu shrine in the heart of the city killed at least 22 people yesterday and wounded about 120 more, authorities told CNN.

According to Bernama, five Malaysians from the same family have been identified, as among eight foreign nationals killed in the fatal bombing on Monday.

They are Lim Su See, Lim Saw Gek, Neoh Jai Jun, Lee Tze Siang and four-year-old Lee Jing Xuan.

In statement today, Wisma Putra advised Malaysians in the Thai capital to closely monitor the situation and to follow instructions issued by the authorities.
