SINGAPORE, June 16 — An EVA Air Hello Kitty jet, which will fly permanently between Singapore, Taipei, and Houston from this Sunday (June 21), will not only feature the famous character. Sanrio characters Little Twin Stars Kiki and Lala, and My Melody will also decorate the new Boeing777-300ER aircraft.
The exclusive “Shining Star” theme for EVA Air’s Hello Kitty jet, which will be hosted in Singapore permanently, was unveiled yesterday.
The launch of EVA Air Hello Kitty Shining Star Jet will also introduce a new service between Taipei and Houston, USA, said EVA Air in a press release. The Taipei-Houston route will start this Friday (June 19), and travellers from Singapore to Houston will have a two-hour transit at Taipei.
As part of the Hello Kitty experience, there will be a Shining Star design on in-flight and restroom amenities, including pillows and playing cards. Specially designed Hello Kitty meals will be served by the cabin crew in Hello Kitty aprons, along with themed cutlery.
Exclusive travel items are also available to those flying on EVA Air’s Hello Kitty jets, such as Hello Kitty themed boarding passes, luggage tags and “Fragile” tags.
Singapore is the first country to host the EVA Air Hello Kitty jet for South-east Asia. The jet has 333 seats — 39 in business class, 56 in premium economy and 238 in economy.
EVA Air currently has six other Hello Kitty jets flying around the world — from Taiwan to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Guam, and the United States — each with a distinctive design. — TODAY
