LONDON, Nov 15 — Looking for an interesting way to explore the British capital? Visitlondon.com, the website of the city’s official tourist office, is holding an international contest to find its “Guest of Honour.” The lucky winner will be joined by celebrity guides on a tour of the city’s signature attractions.
Among other honours, the contest winner will enjoy a tour of the Royal Opera House with world-renowned tenor Placido Domingo, a West End musical in the company of the singer Jessie J, and afternoon tea with the actor Jim Carter, who plays the butler Carson in “Downton Abbey.”
Other highlights of the exclusive tour include dinner in one of the restaurants of Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton and a chance to raise Tower Bridge over the Thames.
Travellers can enter to win the VIP tour, which will take place in early February 2015, by signing up at www.visitlondon.com/guest before December 9. Participants must submit a photo or video accompanied by a short statement describing their ideal day in London. Only applicants over 18 are eligible. — AFP-Relaxnews
