PARIS, March 17 — Art aficionados may be interested in a 16-day luxury travel package that will take guests on a European vacation centred around art and culture aboard a private jet.

Created by luxury specialists at the Four Seasons, the “Backstage with the Arts” tour is meant to offer participants access to premier art collections, exclusive musical performances, private dinners and visits to cultural institutions across Europe.

For example, guests will be privy to areas of the Duomo di Milano traditionally closed to the public, and a special performance of “Don Giovanni” at the historic Estates Theatre in Prague.

The luxury package was developed with La Fugue, Paris, which specialises in creating travel itineraries themed on art, classical music and opera.

Other stops include a private, after-hours tour of a UNESCO World Heritage site in Lisbon, the Jerónimos Monastery, and a private tour of St. Isaac’s Cathedral in St. Petersburg followed by a gala at Pavlovsk Palace, once the hunting grounds of czars.

Guests will travel on a private Boeing 757 customised to seat 52 passengers. Onboard meals will be prepared by a Four Seasons chef.

Prices start at US$69,000 (RM226,000) a person, based on double occupancy, for trips leaving April 20 to May 5, 2015.

Luxury tour operator Artisans of Leisure also offers art-centred travel packages, tailoring trips to guests’ interests.

Bespoke tours can be developed for architecture, religious, modern or contemporary art, and design and feature exclusive, private tours with local experts and curators.
