GLASGOW, Nov 8 — Blackburn Rovers defender Charlie Mulgrew has been brought into Scotland’s squad for Friday’s World Cup qualifier against England at Wembley, the Scottish Football Association announced today.

The versatile Mulgrew, 30, is believed to have been drafted in to provide cover for his Blackburn team-mate Gordon Greer, who has sustained a knock but remains with the squad.

Celtic captain Scott Brown, who has reversed his international retirement, is expected to overcome a dead leg, but Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher is doubtful with a knee problem.

Scotland are fourth in Uefa qualifying Group F, three points below leaders England, who occupy the sole automatic qualifying berth.
