KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 — National backup women’s singles shuttler Goh Jin Wei continued her blistering performance after securing her fourth international career title, emerging champion in the 2015 Vietnam International Series at the Tien Son Sports Complex in Danang City today.

Goh, 15, only took 27 minutes to beat Chen Su Yu of Taiwan 21-9, 21-13 in the final, according to the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) website.www.bwfbadminton.org.

The Form Two student of a private school in Damansara, who is also singles world number six in BWF’s World Junior Rankings, had earlier bagged three titles.

She won the Dutch Junior Open in March after pairing with Tan Jinn Hwa in mixed doubles besides winning the women’s singles in the German Junior Open in March and the Belgian International in September.

Malaysian pair Tan Kian Meng/Peck Yen Wei, the third seeds, suffered an upset after going down 13-21, 21-19, 17-21 to unseeded Indonesians Rian Swastedian/Masita Mahmudin in the men’s doubles.

At the Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold in Bangkok today, former 2011 World Championship runners-up Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong failed in their bid to secure their third title of the season when they lost 22-20, 21-23, 16-21 to fifth seeds Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pankaryanira/Ade Yusuf of Indonesia.

Koo/Tan, who made a comeback to the international stage in May, secured back-to-back titles before this, winning the Sri Lankan International Challenge in June and Russian International Challenge in July. — Bernama
