The 28-year-old rider will be making his Asian Games debut in Incheon, South Korea, which will be held from September 19 to October 4, if given the green light.
Loh is still awaiting a decision from the National Sports Institute (ISN) to confirm his presence at the games.
“I started cycling three weeks ago and I have recovered. I do not feel any pain in any of my injured places.
“However, I need to wait for the decision of the doctor at ISN. Just to verify whether I am ready to race,” he told a media conference on the Shimano Highway Challenge 2014, here today.
Loh, who hails from Kuala Krai, Kelantan, however, said he would understand if the decision was not in his favour as it was in his interest for the long term.
“What is important is safety, especially when I am racing so as not to sustain repeated injuries. Confidence is slightly affected as I still remember the incident. Nonetheless, it will ease after sometime,” he said.
On August 13, Loh, became the first Malaysian rider to represent pro-team Giant-Shimano, sustained a broken sternum and was rushed to a hospital in Spain after falling off in the first stage of Vuelta a Burgos.
Apart from Loh, another national rider listed for the 2014 Asian Games is Muhammad Fauzan Ahmad Lutfi who will be taking part in the 180-kilometre highway event.
Muhammad Fauzan will also feature in the 42km race. — Bernama
