NANJING, Aug 26 ― The national diving camp at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG 2014) continued its excellent run on the ninth day of the meet, winning a bronze in the Women's individual 3m springboard yesterday.

National diver, Loh Zhiayi garnered the bronze after collecting 446.70 points in the final at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre Natatorium here.

Malaysia now have one gold, two silver a bronze.      

Yesterday, national back up archer, Muhamad Zarif Syahiir Zolkifli won a silver in the mixed international recurve event.

The nation's first gold medal was contributed by national badminton backup player, Cheam June Wei in the international mixed doubles while the other silver medal by Zhiayi in the 10m women's individual platform.

Cheam's medal does not count in the official tally but the national contingent have already achieved their three-medal target at this Games with the medals from Muhamad Zarif Syahiir and Zhiayi.

Meanwhile, players in the national golf team who competed in the international mixed group event performed dismally with Low Khai Jee and Kelly Kah Kah only managing 23rd place in the second round.

The national athletes from the golf, archery and gymnastics contingents will continue the hunt for medals on the 10th day tomorrow.

China have dominated the Games from day one and now have an overall haul of 34 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze.

Russia are in second place with 20 gold, 15 silver and 10 bronze followed by the United States who are with seven gold, one silver and six bronze. ― Bernama
