KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 — National men's squash ace Ong Beng Hee hopes of winning his first major title this season was dashed after he lost in the final of the 2014 Hong Kong Football Club (HKFC) International Squash Tournament, today.

The 34-year Penangite who was seeded third, suffered a shock defeat to fourth seed Max Lee of Hong Kong 3-11, 12-10, 11-8, 5-11 and 6-11 in the 74-minute gruelling match held at the HKFC squash court, according to the tournament's website www.squashsite.co.uk

The seasoned campaigner will endure a hectic schedule as he will spearhead Malaysia's challenge in the 17th edition of the Asian Squash Team Championships slated for June 11-15 in Hong Kong.

He will later be competing in a tri-nation doubles test series, featuring Malaysia, India and New Zealand in Malaysia from June 17-19 before heading for Scotland for the 2014 Commonwealth Games at the end of July. — Bernama
