SINGAPORE, Oct 26 — A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly injured two persons with a knife at Prinsep Street.

Police said today that they were alerted to the incident at about 7.50am yesterday.

Officers who responded to the call for assistance found a 36-year-old male victim with cuts across the back of his head, left forearm, and the side of his left wrist.

He was taken conscious to hospital.

Meanwhile, another 25-year-old male victim also sustained a cut to his left forearm.

Police said their preliminary investigations found that the 24-year-old man had allegedly injured both victims with a knife before fleeing the scene.

He was identified and arrested on the same day by officers from Central Police Division, Tanglin Police Division, Police Operations Command Centre and the Criminal Investigation Department through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras and closed-circuit television (CCTV).

He will be charged in court tomorrow with the offence of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon.

If found guilty of the said offence, the man could be jailed for up to seven years, fined, caned, or a combination of such punishments.

The police reiterated that they have zero tolerance towards such brazen acts of violence and blatant disregard of the law. — AsiaOne
