SINGAPORE, Mar 31 — Singapore reported 26 new cases of Covid-19 yesterday, all of which were imported.
In its evening update on the coronavirus situation here, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that all 26 had no symptoms and had been placed on stay-home notices upon arrival here before they were tested while serving quarantine.
They are:
● Seven Singaporeans and three permanent residents who returned from Bangladesh, India, Qatar, Spain and the United Kingdom
● Three student’s pass holders who came from Bangladesh and India
● Two work pass holders who arrived from India and Nepal
● Seven work permit holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and the Philippines, of whom five are foreign domestic workers
● Four short-term visit pass holders
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has increased from none in the week before to two cases in the past week, the MOH said.
The number of cases in the community with no known links to confirmed cases also increased from none in the week before to two cases in the past week.
Among the 126 confirmed cases reported from March 24 to 30, 45 of them had undergone serology tests for past infection and their results were positive, 50 tested negative, and 31 serology test results are pending.
The total number of infections in Singapore is now 60,347.
Of these, 60,138 people have fully recovered and have been discharged, including seven yesterday.
There are still 37 patients in hospitals. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit, MOH said.
Another 142 patients are isolated at community care facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.
