KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 — A weak 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck the Temenggor area in Gerik, Perak at 12.06am today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
MetMalaysia said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10km at coordinates 5.5 degrees North and 101.3 degrees East, reported Astro Awani.
The epicentre was detected about 9km north-east of Hulu Perak, it said.
Tremors were reportedly felt in several areas around Gerik.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the incident.
MetMalaysia said it would continue monitoring the situation and provide updates should there be any further developments.
