LOS ANGELES, Dec 11 — Nicki Minaj wants you to stop speculating that she and fellow hip-hop artist Meek Mill are engaged.
“Meek gave me that,” Minaj told Billboard magazine in their “Year in Music 2015” issue which features her posing topless. “He and I are not engaged. But he said he would like to give me three rings before we get married.”
Minaj sparked engagement rumours in April when she revealed a 15-carat yellow heart-shaped sparkler surrounded by a double halo of tiny diamonds. Speculation the two plan to wed once again amped up after she showed off via Instagram a birthday present he gave her: A ring made up of a clear, enormous diamond set in a single halo on an eternity band.
According to E! News, Mill “loves to shower Nicki with Diamonds,” adding, “He always has and always will. She loves diamonds in all shapes and big sizes. It symbolises his love.”
Minaj also told Billboard that the couple have sought advice about being in a high-profile romance from pals Beyoncé and Jay Z.
“We actually spoke with Jay Z and Beyoncé about it, too,” she explained. “After our show at [Brooklyn’s] Barclays Centre [in October], we had dinner together. They were so giving with advice. I love them so much. It was just a beautiful conversation to have with people we love and we look up to as a couple. They’re so strong.”
“I don’t know what’s going to happen with he and I,” she said about her beau. “I just know right now we are really, really enjoying each other’s company.”
