Beijing, Aug 15 — After the exposure Melody Chen Yong Xin got from her time on The Voice of China, it’s little wonder other Malaysians have tried to follow in her footsteps.
Two have begun the first step by gaining spots on the teams of judges Jay Chou and Harlem Yu.
Jóhannes Koo from Ipoh made it on his second try, failing his first blind audition but took the judges’ critiques to heart and got through with a rendition of “Say Something”.
Fellow Malaysian Gin Lee, a local singer with a following locally but not so much overseas, did not get her full audition screened, with only a snippet of it shown on TV.
