KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 — Malaysia’s Media Works, the country’s high intent digital publishing network, has entered into a strategic partnership with Versa, a fintech wealth management app recently named to Forbes Asia’s “100 to Watch” list.
The collaboration aims to deliver branded digital journeys for clients, tapping into Versa’s growing financial user base. Since its inception in 2021, Versa has facilitated more than RM3 billion in deposits.
Expanding reach through fintech
Under the partnership, Media Works will roll out lead generation campaigns through Versa’s platform, supported by features such as Versa Quests — gamified, in app challenges that motivate and engage users.
For Versa, the tie up provides a structured channel to monetise its fast expanding ecosystem. For Media Works, it strengthens its role as a high intent digital network offering not just reach, but access to trusted, conversion driven audiences.
Industry observers see the move as a sign of how fintech and digital media can strategically align to create scalable, results oriented advertising models in Malaysia.
Voices from the partnership
“Diversification has always been central to our strategy,” said Nikkhil Taery, Chief Commercial Officer of Media Works. “Our ecosystem spans news, technology, lifestyle, automotive, financial literacy, and culture. Partnering with Versa adds another high intent vertical, strengthening the breadth of the Media Works network and allowing us to deliver yield driven solutions for clients.”
From Versa’s side, Seth Tun Ismail, Business Development lead, said the platform’s growth reflects how young Malaysians are embracing new wealth management tools.
“Versa Quests shows the power of connecting ambitious consumers with the brands they aspire to,” he said. “This strategic partnership with Media Works allows brands to engage Malaysia’s young, vibrant audience in ways that are meaningful and measurable.”
About Media Works and Versa
Founded in 2019, Media Works began with Malay Mail and its Mandarin language spin off Cincai News, later expanding through investments in SoyaCincau, Engear TV, The Rakyat Post, BuzzKini, and Seni Malaya, among others. Its reach extends into airports and outdoor advertising through alliances with VGI Airports and Redberry Advertising.
Versa, meanwhile, operates as a regulated wealth management platform under the Securities Commission Malaysia. It offers both conventional and Shariah compliant investment solutions and continues to build its reputation as one of Malaysia’s fastest growing fintech players.
