KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22 — Short-term rates are expected to remain steady today with Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) intervention to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.
BNM estimated today’s liquidity at RM29.86 billion in the conventional system and RM17.74 billion in Islamic funds.
The central bank will conduct four conventional tenders, comprising of RM2 billion each for seven, 14, 21 and 28 days, respectively.
An Islamic range maturity auction Qard tender of RM6.4 billion for seven to 28 days would also be called.
At 4 pm, BNM will conduct an up to RM21.9 billion in conventional overnight tender and RM11.4 billion overnight Qard. — Bernama
