KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 — Kuala Lumpur share prices opened lower today on lack of market participation.
At 9.14am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 3.3 points lower at 1,851.76 after opening 0.04 of a point better at 1,855.10.
There were 165 gainers and 101 losers with 156 counters unchanged, 1,386 untraded and 42 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 142.27 million shares worth RM50.92 million.
On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index fell 14.79 points to 12,713.03, FBMT100 Index erased slipped 18.30 points to 12,405.44, FBM 70 eased 5.5 points to 13,670.87 and the FBM Emas Syariah Index gave up 25.29 points to 13,224.18.
However, the FBM Ace rose 78.17 points to 7,049.61.
On a sectorial basis, the Finance Index rose 12.02 points to 16,357.18 but the Plantation Index slid 10.26 points to 7,672.21 and the Industrial Index was 3.89 points lower at 3,403.61.
Among heavyweights, Maybank was up one sen at RM9.35, Public Bank was flat at RM19.80, TNB eased 16 sen to RM14.44 and Axiata was five sen lower at RM6.85.
Actively traded stocks this morning included Frontken, Vsolar, Luster Industries and Nova Msc. — Bernama
