KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 — Short-term interbank rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) intervention to absorb excess liquidity from the financial system.

The central bank estimated today’s liquidity at RM25.39 billion in the conventional system and RM13.27 billion in Islamic funds. 

BNM will conduct conventional money market tenders of RM1 billion for seven days and 30 days, as well as a repo tender of RM400 million for 45 days. 

It will also conduct Al-Wadiah tenders of RM2.9 billion for eight days, as well as RM3.6 billion for 14 days and a two Commodity Murabahah Programme of RM300 million for 14 days and RM500 million for 30 days. 

At 4pm, BNM will conduct an up to RM23 billion conventional overnight tender and RM6 billion for Al-Wadiah overnight tender.  — Bernama
