KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were marginally higher today, on scattered buying of selected blue-chips and heavyweights, dealers said.
At 9.04am, the key index stood at 1,674.74, up 0.8 points, after opening 0.9 points lower at 1,673.04. There were 108 gainers and 116 losers while 124 counters were unchanged, 1,367 untraded and 16 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 65.63 million shares worth RM32.02 million.
The FBM Emas Index fell 0.58 points to 11,449.63, the FBMT100 Index 0.86 points to 11,226.82, the FBM Emas Syariah Index 6.39 points to 11,808.32, the FBM 70 25.27 points to 12,395.53, but the FBMAce rose 18.2 points to 5,130.66.
Sector-wise, the Plantation Index shed 3.41 points to 7,379.99, the Industrial Index perked 1.93 points to 3,035.26 and the Finance Index added 24.8 points to 14,882.55.
Among heavyweights, Maybank rose 5 sen to RM8.34, TNB rose 2 sen to RM13.16, Axiata was flat at RM6.82 but Petronas Gas lost 20 sen to RM20.80 and Public Bank eased 8 sen to RM17.50.
For actives, Sumatec added 1 sen to 19 sen, Ingenuity was up 0.5 sen to 5 sen, Flonic Hi-Tec was flat at 4 sen, Perisai Petroleum added 2 sen to 42 sen but Masterskill Education was down 0.5 sen to 59 sen. — Bernama
