KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 4 — Pos Malaysia Bhd expects to spend more than RM150 million in capital expenditure (capex) for its financial year ending March 31, 2015 (FY15), says Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Iskandar Mizal Mahmood.
The postal service company spent RM150 million in capex for FY14, with FY15 spending expected to surpass that, he told reporters after Pos Malaysia's annual general meeting here today.
He declined to reveal the exact amount, but said the company always fine-tuned its capex from time to time.
The FY15 capex will be partly used to launch parcel lockers later this year.
Parcel recipients will be able to use a quick response code on their smartphones to open the locker to retrieve their parcel, making it a 24-hour service.
The lockers will be placed in selected shopping malls and post offices, according to Iskandar Mizal.
The capex would also be used to upgrade its motor vehicle fleet, post offices, technology infrastructure and integrated parcel centre at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, he said. — Bernama
