KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 ― Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were lower at mid-afternoon today on lack of trading interest ahead of the weekend, dealers said.
At 3.07pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 2.78 points to 1,872.9.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index eased 41.93 points to 17,463.26, Industrial Index weakened 5.98 points to 3,253.91 and the Plantation Index declined 40.09 points to 8,556.49.
The FBM Emas Index decreased 27.88 points to 13,030.87, FBMT100 Index declined 16.63 points to 12,624.58, FBM 70 dropped 10.59 points to 14,204.11 and the FBM Ace fell 94.58 points to 6,825.18.
Losers outpaced gainers by 686 to 173, while 246 counters were unchanged, 524 untraded and 28 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 2.18 billion shares worth RM1.37 billion.
Among heavyweights, Maybank and Axiata were flat at RM10.10 and RM6.95 respectively, while TNB added six sen to RM12.50.
Public Bank lost two sen to RM19.26 and CIMB dropped four sen to RM7.36.
Of the actives, Sumatec lost four sen to 45 sen, Sanichi eased one sen to 13 sen, PDZ slipped 1.5 sen to 29.5 sen and Managepay dropped three sen to 26.5 sen.
