KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 — Genting Bhd topped the list in terms of highest-paid directors, paying the highest remuneration to its entire board last year.

Genting Bhd’s board of directors received RM140.9 million in 2013 compared with RM117 million in 2012, according to Malaysian Business magazine’s annual survey of the "Highest-Paid Directors".

In a statement today, the magazine said it believed Genting’s highest-paid director was its executive chairman and chief executive, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, who received remuneration in the band of RM136.45 million-RM136.5 million in 2013.

This compared with the RM111.55 million-RM111.6 million band previously, it said.  

In the case of Genting Malaysia Bhd, a unit of Genting Bhd, the highest-paid executive, whom the magazine again assumed is Lim, took home between RM57.4 million and RM57.45 million, higher than the RM48.6 million–RM50 million band he enjoyed in 2012.

IOI Corporation Bhd came in third place with its executive chairman Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng taking home a higher amount in the band of RM52.1-RM52.15 million, compared with RM47.7 million-RM47.74 million previously.

Rounding up the top five list of highest-paid directors are Tropicana Corporation Bhd’s group executive vice chairman Tan Sri Tan Chee Sin and YTL Corporation Bhd’s group executive chairman Tan Sri Yeoh Tiong Lay, said the survey. — Bernama
