KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) on Bursa Malaysia remained higher as at mid morning today, and in line with most regional markets, dealers said.
At 11am, the FBM KLCI surged 6.16 points to 1,846.03 after opening 1.92 points better at 1,841.79.
Market breadth was positive as advancers thumped decliners 460 to 192 while 305 counters were unchanged, 650 untraded and 12 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.35 billion shares worth RM544.03 million.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index rose 44.35 points to 17,123.77, the Plantation Index advanced 10.99 points to 8,910.54 and the Industrial Index added 21.36 points to 3,176.05.
The FBM Emas Index appreciated 42.47 points to 12,935.46, the FBMT100 Index improved 38.87 points to 12,500.48, the FBM 70 increased 33.4 points to 14,284.54 and the FBM Ace gained 40.5 points at 7,105.89.
For the heavyweights, Maybank and Public Bank were flat at RM9.39 and RM18.96 respectively, TNB went up two sen to RM12, while Axiata declined three sen to RM6.91.
Among actives, Globaltec was one sen higher at 10 sen, MAS and PDZ Holdings each rose 1.5 sen to 25.5 sen and 23.5 sen respectively, while Luster Industries earned half a sen to 11.5 sen. — Bernama
