KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — Palm oil stocks rose 1.47 per cent to 1.681 million tonnes in July 2014 from 1.656 million tonnes in June, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said.

In a statement today, the MPOB also said crude palm oil (CPO) stocks improved 7.64 per cent to 891,636 tonnes last month, while processed palm oil eased 4.7 per cent to 789,380 tonnes.

Palm kernel stocks increased 32.27 per cent to 164,701 tonnes in July, while crude palm kernel oil fell 14.09 per cent to 149,243 tonnes, it added.

MPOB said the CPO production in July rose 6.11 per cent to 1.665 million tonnes from 1.569 million tonnes recorded in June.

Palm kernel production in July was up 13.66 per cent to 406,093 tonnes from the 357,295 tonnes registered in June, and crude palm kernel oil output dipped 1.93 per cent to 171,352 tonnes.

Production of palm kernel cake eased 2.03 per cent to 189,052 tonnes in July from the 192,966 tonnes registered in June.

The MPOB said palm oil exports in July declined 2.32 per cent to 1.447 million tonnes from June’s 1.481 million tonnes.

CPO imports stood at 7,725 tonnes in July. The import of processed palm oil dipped 49.22 per cent to 5,582 tonnes in the same month. — Bernama
