KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 — Stocks on Bursa Malaysia were mixed in early trade today, on weak leads from Wall Street overnight, dealers said.

At 9.40am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,875.64, down 0.97 of a point, from yesterday’s close of 1,876.61.

Early gainers BAT rose 62 sen to RM63.62, Keck Seng 26 sen to RM7.19 and Uzma 11 sen to RM5.82.

Among actives, Asia Media rose half-a-sen to 9.45 sen, Pesdec added 1.5 sen to 80.5 sen and MAS gained half-a-sen to 18.5 sen.

Heavyweights Maybank fell three sen to RM9.83, Public Bank dropped two sen to RM20.80 and Tenaga declined two sen to RM11.74.

Gainers outpaced losers 234 to 143 while 227 counters were unchanged, 1,021 untraded and 16 others were suspended. Turnover stood at 193.5 million shares worth RM138.24 million.

On the scoreboard, the Finance Index fell 7.711 points to 17,186.27, the Industrial Index gained 7.23 points to 3,201.6 while the Plantation Index rose 5.17 points to 9,247.22.

The FBM Emas Index was 3.77 points lower at 12,964.86, the FBMT100 Index lost 4.97 points to 12,610.59, the FBM Ace rose 18.44 points to 6,640.65 while the FBM 70 added 0.63 of a point to 14,062.77. — Bernama
