KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 ― The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) opened slightly lower this morning on lack of buying momentum.
At 9.22am, the key index stood at 1,868.69 points, down 0.53 of a point, after opening 0.99 of a point lower at 1,868.23.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index rose 16.58 points to 17,094.77, the Plantation Index was down 0.63 of a point to 9,214.61 and the Industrial Index shed 1.92 points to 3,195.07.
The FBM Emas Index was flat at 12,923.95, the FBMT100 Index was 2.35 points lower at 12,571.9, the FBM 70 gained 2.19 points to 14,051.23 and the FBM Ace was unchanged at 6,598.67.
Market breadth was positive, with gainers outpacing losers 192 to 119, while 177 counters were unchanged, 1,132 untraded and 19 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 136.89 million shares worth RM75.95 million.
Among actives, Bio Osmo added one sen to 16 sen, Pelikan increased six sen to RM1.50 sen, SKP Resources gained 2.5 sen to 42 sen, while Hubline and MAS were flat at five sen and 17 sen, respectively.
Heavyweights, Public Bank, TNB and CIMB were flat at RM19.90, RM12.18 and RM7.31, respectively.
Maybank eased one sen to RM9.89 and Axiata was two sen lower at RM6.90. ― Bernama
