KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 — The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) on Bursa Malaysia was slightly lower in early trade on mild profit-taking activities after yesterday’s gains, said a dealer.
At 9.15am, the barometer index stood at 1,886.83 points, down 0.24 point, after opening 0.93 point lower at 1,886.14.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index rose 15.17 points to 17,139.24, the Industrial Index gained 7.23 points to 3,212.13 but the Plantation Index fell 8.68 points to 9,374.84.
The FBM Emas Index added 3.66 points to 13,022.62, the FBMT100 Index garnered 1.01 points to 12,669.88, the FBM Ace rose 33.85 points to 6,681.08 and the FBM 70 gained 11.43 points to 14,066.32.
Market breadth was positive with gainers outpacing losers 180 to 88 while 203 counters were unchanged, 1,155 untraded and 19 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 178.93 million shares worth RM65.81 million.
Of the heavyweights, Public Bank added four sen to RM9.96, CIMB was one sen higher at RM7.38 but Maybank and TNB shed two sen each to RM9.96 and RM12.18 respectively.
Among actives, MAS edged up half-a-sen to 15 sen, Advance Synergy rose one sen to 18 sen, JCY International appreciated 1.5 sen to 76 sen while 1 Utopia was flat 6.5 sen. — Bernama
