KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — A man was found dead, believed to have been slashed by his younger brother, who was later discovered unresponsive in their rented home at Taman Cempaka 2, Durian Tunggal in Alor Gajah, Melaka, last night.

According to Kosmo!, the incident, which occurred around 7pm, reportedly involved two Bangladeshi men whose bodies were found by their housemate — one in the kitchen and the other in a bedroom.

Neighbour Muhammad Zuhaili Mohd Zin, 31, said he and his family heard an argument between the men at about 5.50pm, shortly before their housemate returned.

“The house was rented by the victim and another man, who later found one man’s body in the kitchen with slash wounds, while the other was found unresponsive in a bedroom,” he said, as cited by the news site.

Muhammad Zuhaili said he knew the pair, who had identified themselves as siblings.

It is understood that one of the men was married to an Indonesian woman and had a child, but was said to have been distraught after his wife reportedly left with their child two weeks ago.

“He often quarrelled with his wife because she wasn’t allowed to work.

“Perhaps something happened between the pair that pushed him to act this way.

“He was always polite and used to greet us whenever we met,” he added.

The bodies of the men, who worked at a nearby construction site, were taken away by police at about 10.45pm after forensic investigations were completed.

Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar confirmed the case and said a media statement would be issued today.
