PUTRAJAYA, Nov 6 — The Ministry of Health (MOH) has completed filling 11,969 of the 18,640 positions approved for this year, representing 64.21 per cent of the total allocated posts.

MOH, in a statement today, said the remaining 6,671 posts, or 35.79 per cent, are in the process of being filled, with 2,418 officers expected to complete their application, appointment and placement procedures this year.

“Of the remainder, 4,253 officers will only be placed next year, including 3,061 officers who will be appointed by the Public Service Commission (SPA) this year but placed early next year.

“Meanwhile, the appointment and placement procedures for the remaining 1,192 officers will be completed in 2027,” the statement read.

According to MOH, the 11,969 successfully filled positions involved the appointment process by SPA and the subsequent placement of officers at relevant health facilities.

Furthermore, MOH will apply to the Public Service Department (JPA) for approval to fill new positions for 2027, ensuring healthcare services remain sustainable and capable of meeting future demands.

“This strategic application will cover the requirements of all service schemes under MOH to support the expansion of facilities and the growing demand for public healthcare,” it added. — Bernama
