BANGKOK, April 19 — Nidaranu Mamad breathed a sigh of relief when he received the “Pek Rahmah” (Goodwill Pack) from the Malaysian Ambassador to Thailand Datuk Jojie Samuel today.

She was among 25 members of the Yommarat Community in Bangkok who received these packs containing basic food items and toiletries from the embassy ahead of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Community leader Yommarat Sombbon Taengnoi said the contribution of the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok has helped ease the burden of the poor who are about to celebrate Aidilfitri.

“All “Pek Rahmah” were moved and expressed their gratitude to the embassy for helping with the basic necessities for the Aidilfitri celebration,” he said.

Jojie said the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme is the embassy’s annual event to help the poor in Bangkok.

This year, he said the embassy provided “Pek Rahmah” containing rice, cooking oil, sugar, condensed milk, noodles and personal grooming equipment.

“We hope that this donation can lighten the burden as well as enliven the atmosphere of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration,” he told Bernama.
