PASIR PUTEH, Jan 30 — A policeman pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court here today to two charges of disposing of evidence and conspiring to steal exhibits in a ketum case.
Lance Corporal Bob Fuzainey Hazoni, 41, was charged, together with two others still at large, with causing the disappearance of evidence of an offence that was committed with the intention of protecting the offender from legal punishment at the Cherang Ruku police station between 3am and 4am last January 10.
The charge, framed under Section 201 of the Penal Code, which provides imprisonment for up to seven years, or fine, if found guilty.
Bob Fuzainey was also charged under Section 109 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 457 of the same law, with conspiring with two men who are still at large, to steal the exhibits at the same time, date and place.
He faced imprisonment for up to 14 years or a fine, or both, if found guilty.
Magistrate Mohamad Nazri Abdul Rahim set bail at RM7,000 with one surety and fixed March 21 for mention.
