KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 29 — The provision of a special additional annual salary increment (KGT) of RM100 to public service officers of the management and professional group as well as the implementation groups will come into effect on January 1.
The Public Service Department (PSD), in a post on its Facebook page today, said that based on Service Circular No. 2 of 2022 (PP No. 2/2022), the special additional KGT covers permanent, temporary and contract of service-appointed officers, who have been appointed before January 1, 2023, and as well as those who are currently serving on January 1, 2023.
However, the payment of the special additional KGT will only be made on the salary payment date for the month of January 2023.
“This special additional KGT does not change the officers’ Annual Salary Movement (PGT) and Salary Movement Date (TPG), subject to the regulations currently in force,” read the statement.
It also said that officers subject to disciplinary actions (excluding those who have been dismissed from the service) are also eligible to receive this special additional KGT. It also covers officers who died on January 1, 2023, as part of the officers’ final salary for the purpose of retirement benefits.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when tabling the special allocation (mini budget) at the Dewan Rakyat on December 20 said the Unity Government has agreed to proceed with giving an additional annual salary increment (KGT) of RM100 to all civil servants from Grade 11 to 56.
This initiative to grant a special additional KGT was announced through the Civil Service Premier Assembly on August 30 and during the tabling of the 2023 Budget on November 7, under the administration of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. — Bernama
