PETALING JAYA, Sept 27 — Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) will dissolve its Negri Sembilan chapter over issues with state leaders, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.

The PPBM president also said the Ampang and Subang divisions in Selangor will be closed using a new rule the party just incorporated in its constitution.

He said PPBM will appoint a new state leadership for Negri Sembilan, the process for which will be overseen by Tan Sri Rais Yatim and Eddin Syazlee Shith.

“It is a rule or regulation with regards to dissolution of state divisions or branches. This was not in the (party) constitution. And today we tabled it and the supreme council has agreed to approve.

“This is for us to use in view of our decision today to dissolve PPBM which was formed in Negri Sembilan. The reason being, because we received a lot of problems. Last time, we appointed someone and they did a lot of things, so Negri Sembilan is the only division or state which has a lot of problems, and though we want to make changes, there are issues with the constitution.

“So that’s why one of the way decided by the RoS is, if we want to do it (make changes) is to dissolve the state leadership and divisions, including the Youth and Srikandi wings in Negri Sembilan,” the Pagoh MP and Home Minister said, referring to the Registrar of Societies.

Muhyiddin said that the Ampang and Subang divisions “have got a lot of problems” as they did not heed party orders.

“Well Negri Sembilan is long outstanding. We have faced a lot of problems. From the start when we appointed all the chiefs of the division, they do a lot of things which were not in accordance with the party constitution,” Muhyiddin said, adding that this included press conferences discrediting the party and sacking members within the divisions.

He said new leaderships would be announced soon for the said divisions.

During the press conference, Muhyiddin also announced a reshuffling of PPBM's federal leadership line-up, in which Penang PPBM chairman Marzuki Yahya has been made the party's secretary-general, replacing Datuk Dr Shahruddin Md Salleh.

He also announced Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin as the new PPBM information chief, replacing Datuk Kamarudin Md Noor.

PPBM has also formed a new members registration department, headed by its chief strategist Datuk Rais Hussin.

Muhyiddin said that the department was needed, as there has been increased interest from many to join PPBM and a void of an efficient membership registration system.
