PUTRAJAYA, May 22 — Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived 15 minutes earlier than the time he was summoned to show up at the Malaysian Anti Corruption Comission (MACC) headquarters here to be questioned over his role in the 1MDB scandal.
Dressed in a light blue shirt complimented with a dark blue suit ,he appeared calm despite being surrounded by media photographers hoping for a perfect snap of the beleaguered former leader of this nation.
Remaining mainly expressionless, he forced a smile when he posed for photographers at the lobby for few moments later on, before heading for his interrogation.
He did not stop to speak to the media despite shouts for a few comments.
He arrived in a white Toyota Vellfire accompanied by a four car convoy and two police outriders.
Seen with him were his six lawyers and about four bodyguards who entered the building exactly at 9.45am.
He entered the building amid hordes of MACC staff recording the moment on their smartphones, and wrote down his name in the visitors' logbook at the main desk.
It is unclear how long he will be interrogated by MACC officers.
However a source told Malay Mail it could stretch throughout the day, even until dusk, when Muslims break fast during Ramadan.
The source also went on to say that the interrogation could even take days.
Also seen walking into MACC headquarters earlier was Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigations department director Datuk Seri Amar Singh who was here for a close door meeting with several others believed to be from the 1MDB taskforce.
